Project
Reform of Water Enterprises, Indonesia
Challenge
Local water utilities urgently need integrated management, planning and financing, many barely able to maintain minimal service levels.
Outputs
The project addressed deficiencies by developing guidelines for policy improvements, building capacity and skill levels within a national resource center, carrying our feasibility assessments of selected local agencies, and piloting improvements for an agency cluster.
Impacts
Assisted agencies to overcome constraints in unaccounted-for water, improve water quality and quantity, strengthen institutional capacity, formalize funding mechanisms, and enhance operational efficiency.
