Practice Areas

GlobalWorks provides its partners and clients with the capabilities necessary to package high priority infrastructure investments in developing economies. These primary capabilities include core technical, financial, institutional, economic, environmental and social specializations necessary for successful project and investment packaging.

Core practice areas are fully supported by a range of secondary specializations, for example optimizing public-private partnerships (PPP) in project design, assessing and recommending commercial structures (concession, BOT, DBFO) and arranging carbon offset financing under the CDM.

Project
Reform of Water Enterprises, Indonesia
                                                                              Challenge
Local water utilities urgently need integrated management, planning and financing, many barely able to maintain minimal service levels.

Outputs
The project addressed deficiencies by developing guidelines for policy improvements, building capacity and skill levels within a national resource center, carrying our feasibility assessments of selected local agencies, and piloting improvements for an agency cluster.
                                                                            Impacts
Assisted agencies to overcome constraints in unaccounted-for water, improve water quality and quantity, strengthen institutional capacity, formalize funding mechanisms, and enhance operational efficiency.
