Preparing the Mega City Sustainable Development Project, Pakistan
Challenge
The rapidly urbanizing city of Karachi, with a population of over 17 million, requires urgent investments in key infrastructure.
Outputs
Focusing on five priority infrastructure sectors, the project formulated an urban infrastructure development program, mechanisms for investment financing, and long term capacity building support for implementing institutions. Focusing on the solid waste management sector, GlobalWorks professionals prepared a sector development roadmap and identified a long term US$ 1 billion investment program.
